EquiTrack - Equine Training App Reviews

Its was a great app till last update in August. Now wont record new rides and all previous rides are the same. Very frustrating since its a paid for app.

I routinely wax eloquent on "Equitrack" , probably the best trail riding and training recording app out there. Available as an Apple download, it allows you to use pre-programmed workouts or customize your own workout sessions. Alternatively you record your freestyle ride in terms of auto record of weather, temp, humidity, wind, total ride time, avg speed, top speed, horse and human calories burned, equine heart rate, special notes, and a GPS and satellite overlay of your ride. Ive used it religiously the past 3 years and like it better than my much more expensive Garmin Forerunner system. Its so good it accurately mapped a 100 mile EquiTour a group of us took in Spain. Ncluding the GPS photos and satellite map of terrain where we rode! This app should be used by any group that attempts to capture member riding miles or hours, all endurance or trail competitors, amateurs just interested in "the know", or serious competitors who need a disciplined approach to their individual training time.

The distance traveled during a ride only works until you save the ride. It just shows "0" for miles traveled once you save the ride and you lose the map. Basically all its good for is recording the time you ride which is not worth $8. App website doesnt work so I dont know how to contact anyone to get it resolved.

I have had this app on my 5c for a couple of years now and still do. Suddenly I am being told I cant update the app because this app cant be used on an iPhone 5c. I dont understand. And this is an app I paid for. I really liked this app and want the update.

I used this app for every single ride to track my mares training, distance, and speed. I went to update the app and now am being told I cant use it on my 5c iPhone. Im pretty disappointed that Im not able to use the app anymore, its been my favorite tracking app.

App crashes

This app has been a huge part of getting my horses in the best physical shape possible! It saves to your calendar. I can add any info each ride from ground conditions, annuals, worming and shoeing in the comment box! I also like the weather it adds, this will be huge advantage traveling with your horses and the performance the put out. Also EquiTrack is on Facebook for help using the app, or any issues you might have!

This app makes training fun and more productive! Really worth it!

This app is great in so many ways. Trainers, Riders and those learning how to ride can log time, distance and map of their ride with this app. It is also very useful for keeping data on each horse for vet visits. This is a steal for the price.

I love this app for keeping track and knowing what we have been doing with our horses. *** I think it would be great if there was a note section for each horse for the vet, shoeing and vaccine records. Also it would be great if I could sync it with my daughters iPod so when they are working their horses they dont have to have my phone or wait on each other. I would like to be able to have all 3 of us working horses and them following the training program I have developed for each horse.***

Kinda disappointed. I saw you can add vet and worming notes which is why I bought it but it looks like you have to add a ride in order to take notes?? Please add a notes section after each horse in the "stable" or even the following date fields: Farrier; worming date and type; spring shots; fall shots; A reminder when its due next would put this app over the top awesome! Ill update the rating after todays test ride.

I use this app daily in my training program and can send full PDF files to my owners and they love tracking their progress!!

I like the App, it runs well, but when you leave the app it leaves the GPS running and drains the battery. I have to start a ride, and then pause it, to shut off the GPS before exiting the app. Please fix this!

This app is awesome when it works, which is almost never. When I first pull it up, it glitches and tells me I have AT&T for my carrier and says its a different time, when I have Verizon. Also the profile pictures for the horses are all stretched and messed up. The app always crashes in the middle of my ride so I loose everything. It used to work pretty well a few updates ago though.

To use it. Ive been looking for something like this to help me get motivated to ride more and get in shape. Will update my review in a month. Lol

LOVE this app. Only problem I have is that you can put in your own personal weight but not height. Someone if the same weight but different height would burn a different amount of calories so in my option the amount of calories it says you burn cant be accurate. Everything else though seems to work great. It really helps to motivate you to have a better fitness program for your horses since you can keep track if everything and keep all of them separate. I have three in my and its all easy to keep track of. I especially like that it tells you what youre fastest speed was. Dont really know of any other way to do that unless someone stop watched you on a racetrack so a really nice feature to me.

I just did the update, now it wont open and I have a ride in the morning. Have loved it up until now. Dont know whats going on.

I dont know why there are not ratings for this app as I know of at least 20 people in the endurance community who use this app. Fantastic app to track your rides, save your favorite trails and track important data for endurance. I dont use the programs so I cant comment on them but I put over 2000 miles on 4 different horses last year and this app never failed me!

Outstanding and easy to use application. Set up and I took minutes. Connection with an polar H7 heart monitor automatic and simple. Works great for training and competition. There are two of us using this app. Cons: heart rate icon is way too small needs replaced large in the center of the screen where your horse icon goes. The horse icon should go with a heart rate monitor is now. It is unclear if peak speed is always accurate.
